Borgo di Vignamaggio Wedding Photographer | Wedding in the Heart of Chianti

|

An elegant and intimate wedding set in the stunning backdrop of Borgo di Vignamaggio, in the heart of Chianti, Tuscany. Guests and the couple traveled from all over the world to celebrate this unforgettable destination wedding weekend, beginning the day before with a beautifully curated welcome dinner.

I’m grateful to the couple for allowing me to share a selection of images from their celebration.

Borgo di Vignamaggio is a historic Tuscan estate surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, known for its Renaissance villa and timeless atmosphere. Located about 45 minutes from Florence and just over an hour from Siena, it offers privacy, charm, and breathtaking scenery—an ideal setting for couples planning a destination wedding in Italy.

For international guests, the closest airport is Florence Airport (Peretola), with connections to major European hubs. Another convenient option is Pisa International Airport. From there, guests can easily reach the estate by rental car or private transfer, enjoying the scenic roads through the Chianti countryside.

Welcome Dinner

The celebration began with a welcome dinner held in front of the borgo under an elegant marquee, thoughtfully arranged due to slightly unpredictable weather. The structure blended seamlessly with the setting, maintaining the refined atmosphere while ensuring comfort for all guests.

The theme for the evening was cartomancy, brought to life through an immersive and meticulously designed setup. Soft lighting, symbolic details, and layered textures created a captivating environment that immediately engaged everyone in attendance. It was more than a dinner—it was a carefully curated experience designed to welcome guests into the wedding weekend.

As a Borgo di Vignamaggio wedding photographer, my approach during the evening was documentary and unobtrusive. I focused on authentic interactions, spontaneous laughter, and meaningful connections, embracing a candid wedding photographer style that values natural storytelling over staged moments.

Wedding Day

The following day, the ceremony took place in the garden of the estate, surrounded by the rolling hills of Chianti. The natural landscape framed the vows beautifully, while the Tuscan light added depth and warmth to every moment.

Dinner was served in front of the villa, where guests enjoyed the magic of sunset light washing over the historic façade. As day transitioned into evening, the golden tones created a romantic and atmospheric setting, ideal for capturing genuine emotion and subtle gestures.

Being a Borgo di Vignamaggio wedding photographer means understanding how to interpret Tuscan light, architecture, and landscape in a refined yet authentic way. My work as a candid wedding photographer centers on real emotions, unposed moments, and the quiet beauty that naturally unfolds throughout a wedding day.

Why a Welcome Dinner Is Valuable

A welcome dinner sets the tone for the entire wedding weekend. It allows guests traveling from different countries to relax, connect, and ease into the celebration before the wedding day. For the couple, it creates extra time to spend with loved ones in a more informal setting, without the schedule pressure of the ceremony and reception. From a storytelling perspective, it adds depth to the gallery, capturing genuine interactions, anticipation, and atmosphere, especially in a setting like Borgo di Vignamaggio.

Photographing at Borgo di Vignamaggio was an incredible experience. Borgo di Vignamaggio is a stunning historic villa surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards in the heart of the renowned Chianti wine region. The natural light embraces this place in a truly remarkable way, especially in the late afternoon, enhancing the textures of the stone façade, the landscape, and the atmosphere. For a wedding photographer, it offers a perfect balance of architecture, nature, and that unmistakable Tuscan glow.
